Hi! I’m Tim Bartholomew, a certified teacher based in Monterey, CA with over 10 years of experience in education — including 5+ years teaching upper elementary and middle school English Language Arts.

I specialize in helping students in elementary and middle school grow into confident readers and writers through personalized support in reading comprehension, structured writing, and test prep (including CAASPP).

My sessions are designed to meet each student where they’re at. Whether your child needs help with a school writing assignment or wants to improve study habits, I create lessons that are engaging, goal-driven, and encouraging.

I’m also a proud dad and lifelong learner who loves board games, biking, and exploring the outdoors with my family. I launched Write Steps Education to help kids build the foundational skills and confidence they need — step by step.
